Youth, defense, and determination by the WNBA All Stars prevailed 119-107 over the best women’s basketball team on the planet, Team USA. Arike Ogunbowale was the most impactful All Star with 34 points, 21 alone in the 3rd quarter. Noteworthy that two rookies lead the WNBA All Stars in assists, Caitlin Clark with 10, and Angel Reese with 11 rebounds. Angel continued with a double-double adding 12 points in just 18 minutes of play. Breanna Stewart USA also with a double-double including 31 points and 10 rebounds. A’ja Wilson USA recorded 22 points. Also of note, Caitlin Clark with only 2 turnovers in over 26 minutes of play.
Team USA needs greater defensive intensity. Hooray, no technical or flagrant fouls called in a competitive contest. On to Paris, France for Team USA and a much needed break for the All Stars and the rest of the WNBA players.
